This year, we continued the refurbishment of our hotel bedrooms, ensuring that every guest enjoys a comfortable and modern stay. Each upgrade is a reflection of our commitment to excellence, and it’s been wonderful to hear the positive feedback from our guests.

Our charity of the year for 2024 was Railway Children, an organisation close to our hearts. Through fundraising events, donations, and team efforts, we’ve been proud to contribute to their vital work supporting vulnerable children.

One of the highlights of the year was marking the 5th anniversary of Derby Comedy Club. This monthly event has grown into a much-loved fixture, bringing laughter and joy to our community. Here’s to the next five years of side-splitting performances!

2024 was truly a standout year for weddings at the Derby Conference Centre. We hosted a record 18 weddings, each one unique and special. From intimate gatherings to grand celebrations, it’s been an honour to be part of so many couples’ special days.

Our Christmas party nights have always been a highlight, and this year was no exception. With festive décor, delicious food, and a buzzing atmosphere, we hosted some of the best parties yet. Seeing our guests celebrate together was the perfect way to close out the year.

2024 has also been a year of looking inward, focusing on the wellbeing of our team. We held regular mental health first aider meetings and established a wellbeing committee to ensure every team member feels supported. Additionally, we held modern slavery meetings to ensure we uphold the highest ethical standards in every aspect of our operations.

One of our greatest achievements this year has been retaining our talented, loyal team. Their hard work and commitment are at the heart of everything we do, and I couldn’t be prouder of the culture we’ve built together.

We’ll kick off the year with the full launch of the Stephenson & Euston Suite, following its stunning refurbishment on 16th February for our Wedding Fayre. This space will be a showpiece for the venue, offering unmatched elegance and versatility for weddings, conferences, and special events.

Our work isn’t done yet! We’ll continue updating our hotel bedrooms to ensure every guest enjoys the high standards of comfort and style they expect from us.

In 2025, our focus will remain on our people. We’re committed to maintaining a supportive and engaging work environment that values and develops our team members. Their dedication has been key to our success, and we’ll continue to invest in their wellbeing and growth.

With a packed calendar of events, exciting new projects, and a commitment to building on the strong foundations of 2024, I’m confident that 2025 will be a year of opportunity and growth for the Derby Conference Centre.
