A festive university partnership

Event Management students from The University of Derby, have been working closely with The Derby Conference Centre to produce the business schools annual Christmas Party Night.

The event was a Christmas Masquerade Ball, that a group of 7 students planned and ran, with support from Samantha O’Neill, Marketing Manager at the venue, and was a great success.

The event featured mask decorations, festive ambiance and a program filled with entertainment, including a live pianist and singer. The students also ran a charity raffle, which raised funds for local charity Children’s Frist, who also were in attendance to celebrate.

As an event management graduate from the University of Derby, Marketing Manager, Sammie said “It’s been an absolute pleasure working with such a passionate and talented group of students. Seeing their ideas come to fruition and knowing the impact this experience has on their future careers is incredibly rewarding.”

This is just one way that The Derby Conference Centre is proud to support initiatives that empower students to gain real-world experience and build confidence as they step into their professional careers. Earlier in the year, Sammie also hosted final year hospitality student for a workshop on strategy, and strategic decisions.

The venue looks forward to continuing to work with the university.
