My First 3 Months as Sales Manager
Wow, what a fantastic first three months it’s been for me at The Derby Conference Centre! I have loved every day in my new role as Sales Manager.
From day one, I’ve been blown away by the friendly atmosphere, the energy of the team, and just how much happens here. It’s been an absolute joy getting to know everyone and settling into this amazing venue.
Falling in Love with the Venue
One of my favourite things about The Derby Conference Centre is the building itself—it’s got so much history and character.
And don’t get me started on the Sunken Lounge! It’s such a cool and welcoming space, perfect for a quick coffee, a relaxed meeting, or just taking a breather between events. Seeing guests enjoy the atmosphere here really makes me smile.
Kicking Off with Christmas Cheer
Starting just before Christmas was such a fun way to get stuck in. Seeing how our different spaces came together for festive parties was incredible—there was such a buzz!
From party games and fun photo opportunities to delicious food and drinks, the atmosphere was just brilliant.
Whether it was private events or shared party nights, everyone had a blast. And then came our stylish New Year’s Eve party—what a way to ring in 2024!
No Such Thing as a Quiet January!
People often think January is a slow month in the events world—not here! From the get-go, we were hosting conferences, exhibitions, and so many exciting meetings.
It’s been amazing to see businesses making the most of our venue, and I’ve loved being part of it all.
A Team That Feels Like Family
I have to say, the best part of my job is working with such an amazing team. The feedback we get from guests is always so positive—they love the food, the service, and the friendly faces that make every event special.
It makes me so proud to be part of this place.
I’m also so lucky to work alongside Jess and Julia. Jess is our wedding expert, making sure every couple gets their dream day down to the tiniest detail. Julia, on the other hand, is the go-to for big events, bringing her skills and energy to make everything run like clockwork. And honestly, they’re both just lovely people who bring so much warmth and enthusiasm to everything they do!
Getting Out and About
One of the things I’ve loved most is getting back out there, meeting new people, and reconnecting with familiar faces. Networking has been such a highlight for me, and it’s great to see so many businesses excited to collaborate and use our venue.
