The Derby Conference Centre achieves Bronze in Green Meeting accreditation

The Derby Conference Centre is proud to announce they have achieved a Bronze status after undergoing it’s first grading under the new GreenCheck assessment scheme, managed by Green Tourism, the UK’s leading sustainable tourism certification scheme.

A Green Tourism Award demonstrates that a business works responsibly, ethically and sustainably, contributes to its community, reduces its impact on the environment, and aims to be accessible and inclusive to all visitors and staff. The award highlights the Derby Conference Centres commitment to sustainability, showing great commitment to making its business work more sustainably and is currently implementing a range of measures related to the 15 goals across all three pillars of People, Places and Planet.

Holly, the assessor from Green Tourism said “The Derby Conference Centre has done a fantastic job in achieving our Bronze Green Meetings award upon their initial assessment. One area that the Centre scored particularly highly in was the Health and Wellbeing goal. There is a distinct effort to both protecting and enhancing health and wellbeing within the establishment making it a safe and inviting space for both staff and guests. Additionally, the DCC has demonstrated their awareness surrounding equality, diversity and inclusivity issues resulting in them creating a welcoming and accessible venue to all. Finally, the DCC does an excellent job of communicating their sustainability commitment by utilising their website and social media outlets to share green information.”
