me&dee Charity
Here I am again, with another catch up with Matthew Hutchings! For this months blog, I wanted to share a bit about me&dee and also announce a couple of new ways in which we will be supporting me&dee over the next couple of months (but more of that a bit later)!
As many of you may be aware, the Derby Conference Centres chosen charity is me&dee, who we have been raising money for over the last few years! We helped with their 2020 vision, with a team undertaking the 3 peaks challenge, support them in a range of meetings/events and most recently I personally became the Vice Chairman for the board of trustees for this amazing charity.
So to start off with, you may be wondering…. What is me&dee Charity?
me&dee chairty was formed in 2006 and is a totally self-funding charity. They rely on people and businesses to raise funds for them so that they can provide the much needed memory holidays to families. Founder, Maria Hanson MBE talks has a beautiful story on how she started the charity – and it is definitely worth a read.
Their mission is simple – to ensure families going through difficult and uncertain times are gifted with memories they can treasure, never loosing sight of what truly matters. Because it’s those special moments shared with the ones we love, no matter how complicated circumstances may be, that are most precious of all.
What do me&dee do?
me&dee Charity, is a charity dedicated to ensuring that families going through difficult and uncertain times are gifted with memories they can treasure, never loosing sight of what truly matters – because its those special moments shared with the ones we love, no matter how complicated the circumstances may be, that are the most precious of all.
How can we support me&dee?
We recently added a donation button on to our Eventbrite events, and you are able to pick the amount you want to donate, whether it be small or large.

And now… for my exciting announcement!
From 25th – 29th April, the team at the DCC will be cycling 250 miles as a way of raising money for me&dee – on our me&dee memory trail. A static bike will be placed in the Sunken Lounge for all to see (and to donate to) during one of our busiest weeks at the conference centre, and we are aiming to hit 250 miles, which would cover the distance from Birmingham Children’s Hospital (the first treat me&dee gave was for a child here), then calling at Melbourne (me&dee Office), then Mablethorpe (me&dee holiday homes were there for 7 years), then to Sherwood Hideaway (the new lodge is based there) back to the office in Melbourne!
Anyone can participate, so if you are nearby, why not pop in and have a spin?
