We put on a free Christmas lunch for the local community!

We proudly held a free Community Christmas lunch on 9^th December here at The DCC. The invitation to the lunch was extended to a number of community groups and charities, including Re-engage (formerly Contact the Elderly) and a popular care facility for the elderly based in Derby itself. From 12pm to 4pm the 70 or so guests enjoyed some wonderful festive fayre, socialised with friends old and new and were thoroughly entertained by the Rolls Royce Ladies Choir.

We organised the lunch to celebrate our recent rebrand and launch of our new website, but the event also gave us the opportunity we wanted to give something back to the local community who we feel have been part of our success this year.

On the day, the guests were very well looked after by the entire team; a team which comprised of the catering staff and the sales team who took over the serving duties to make sure everyone was fed and watered in style!

Our Managing Director, Matthew Hutchings, expressed his immense pride in how the day went, telling us:

“I am not only delighted with what we have achieved here today, but I am also extremely proud of how the entire team rolled up their sleeves and pulled together to make sure it was a success and was thoroughly enjoyed by all of the local VIPs who attended. Local community charities work so hard and I feel honoured to be able to give them this small token of our thanks at a time of year when things can be particularly tough.”

It’s been a busy 6 months for us! Having launched our new website in June after a major rebrand that allowed us to highlight our 6 core services – Hotels, Meeting, Events, Weddings, Offices and Conferences.

Regardless of how busy our continued success makes us, we will still find time to host this well-received free Community Lunch for many years to come!
